DAACI Host Masterclass at PRS For Music Company Conference 2024

Latest News April 23, 2024

Protecting our rights as humans, artists and creators…

It’s the central pillar to DAACI’s mission in the Music and AI landscape. As PRS for Music says, “Music wouldn’t exist without the work of songwriters, composers and publishers.” We agree.

Many of the DAACI team are lifelong members and we were delighted to be asked to present at the PRS all company conference this year, to deliver a masterclass called ‘Making Music with AI’.

We talked about the direct impact of AI for PRS members. We shared how and why we’ve built our ecosystem differently, with the human artist at the centre. We answered questions, offered solutions, and discussed what the future of music and AI means for us as a community.

Attended by over 200 PRS employees and CEO Andrea C. Martin, the annual conference informs and educates the PRS team with the latest developments within the industry.

CEO, Rachel Lyske, Co-Founder and Inventor Dr Joe Lyske, and Senior Producer Ed Harley presented two 45-minute sessions over the day with discussions chaired by John Mottram, Director of Communications and Public Affairs at PRS for Music. We began with an overview of DAACI, from the very beginning to the groundbreaking developments and products that are to come in the future for both generative and adaptive technologies.

The attendees experienced a demo of DAACI’s current Beta product, Natural Drums by Ed Harley (Natural Drums beta is available here). They were given a glimpse into the future with a demo of the culmination of the DAACI Natural Series journey: the DAACI Generative DAW, presented by its inventor, Dr Joe Lyske. This exclusive insight into the DAACI product line showed PRS employees how their members can work alongside DAACI’s AI tools to create and edit music using technology that supports them and the industry.

The session closed with a Q&A, hosted by the session chair John Mottram, where he asked the team a range of questions regarding AI and the impact that it has on music rights holders, and how DAACI’s technologies are designed to support and reward rights holders around the globe. John Mottram then opened the floor to questions from PRS employees and invited them to get inside the brains of industry leaders across AI, innovation, and music.
