DAACI Presents to UK Parliament on AI in Music

Latest News March 27, 2024

DAACI presented the latest AI in Music technology for a cross section of all-party MPs and Lords at UK Parliament this week, in a roundtable event hosted by UK Music and the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG).

Lords and MPs were invited to gain insights into the kinds of assistive technology musicians can use to enhance their creative process, through live demonstrations and discussions with the DAACI team. The session informed UK Music’s ongoing inquiry into AI and the music industry, covering the benefits and positives along with some of the threats and risks, working towards a short report with practical recommendations for how the music industry and UK government should work closely together on this area in the future.

The practical discussion featured DAACI’s patented AI tools and musician-led technology. CEO Rachel Lyske presented an overview of the integration of AI in music creation and addressed concerns about the generative AI music space. The team also explained how DAACI’s technology and unique ‘taught, not trained’ approach differs from other tools available in that it uses the rules of music itself, paired with human intent, to assist in the creative process.

At the heart of the presentation was a demonstration illuminating the impact that ethically-driven AI systems can have on musicians and creators alike. Through live performance, the team illustrated how DAACI’s cutting-edge AI solutions can streamline workflows and unlock new realms of creative expression for artists.

CEO Rachel Lyske said, “Our discussions with Members of Parliament this week are a vital part of our commitment to leading the way for creator-led solutions and creating a positive impact in our industry. AI is a key element of the UK’s innovation landscape and DAACI’s creator-led approach was embraced along with a deeper understanding of the technology involved.

“Thanks to UK Music Technology and Kevin Brennan, Chair of the APPG and Member of Parliament for Cardiff West, for bringing us together to discuss the importance of ethical AI in the music industry.”
